Hello, everyone! My name is Elizabeth Keebler, and I am currently a senior at Stevenson High School in Livonia, Michigan. However, for eight weeks this summer, I was a bona fide Stanford University student studying General Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and Greek Mythology.
There were thousands of ambitious young women at Stanford with whom I had a surprising number of things in common—even a girl from my high school! I met people from all over the country and around the world, including my roommate who had flown in that morning from Hong Kong. I loved every minute of my time in California and, quite fittingly, the sky was always the stunning shade of blue that is visible one or two days a year back home.
I am very actively involved in local community orchestras, and volunteer as a cat caretaker at my local humane society. I plan to go into pre-med with an emphasis on biology, chemistry, and psychology, which Stanford has inspired me to wholeheartedly pursue. With the Joyce Ivy Foundation, I hope to continue to grow and improve my leadership skills, and continue the Foundation's tradition of inspiring and facilitating the successes of future scholars.
