  1. Notable alumni include President Obama and FDR, as well as current Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy
  2. Undergraduate research is one of many highlights at Harvard. During the summer term, more than 20 different regional centers and institutes help students conduct research throughout the nation and the world. Harvard also offers select programs for undergraduate research in their graduate and professional schools. Additionally, it is quite common to see faculty hiring their current students as term-time research assistants.
  3. Harvard's mascot is John Harvard, the Pilgrim.
  4. Harvard's most famous rival in football is Yale; the game is highly publicized among the Ivy League universities, as it concludes the season for both universities.
  5. If that rivalry isn't enough, MIT has a series of hacks poking fun at Harvard culture.
