The Joyce Ivy Foundation Board of Directors recently elected four new members. Here's a bit about the new directors from the recent press release:
Maya Aravind is a resident in dermatology at The University of Michigan. She previously served on The University of Michigan Admissions Executive Committee and The University of Michigan Medical School Admissions Committee. She has also served as an Alumni Interviewer for Princeton University. A Michigan native, Ms. Aravind is a graduate of Detroit Country Day School. She received her B.A. from Princeton University, her M.A. from Columbia University, her M.S. from The University of Michigan School of Public Health, and her M.D. from The University of Michigan Medical School.
Mary Jo Dawson recently retired from her position as a college counselor at the Academy of the Sacred Heart (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan). Ms. Dawson is active in the National Associate of College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and the Michigan Association of College Admission Counseling (MACAC). She is former chair of the MACAC Admissions Best Practices Committee and current chair of the MACAC Development Committee. Ms. Dawson volunteers with several Detroit area college access organizations and served on the inaugural Joyce Ivy Foundation Counselor Advisory Board. Ms. Dawson is a Michigan native and graduate of the Academy of the Sacred Heart. She received her B.A. from George Washington University and her M.A. in Counseling from Oakland University.
Audrey DiMarzo is General Counsel for Rizvi Traverse Management. Ms. DiMarzo is a former partner of Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn, LLP and former member of Hooper Hathaway P.C. She is a member of the Audit Committee of the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation and previously served as a member of the Board of Session of the First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor where she chaired the Finance Committee and Budget Committee. Ms. DiMarzo is a native of Michigan and graduate of Huron High School (Ann Arbor). She received her B.A. from Dartmouth College and her J.D. from Harvard Law School.
Kim Easter is the Director of Development at the Michigan League of Conservation Voters. Ms. Easter formerly served as Legislative Assistant to Michigan State Representative Rebekah Warren and as Campaign Coordinator for the Rebekah Warren for State Senate Campaign and the Christine Green for State Representative Campaign. She is a former attorney at the Law Offices of Deborah LaBelle and former staff attorney with Prison Legal Services of Michigan. Ms. Easter serves on several local Boards dedicated to social justice and is a member of the local ACLU Lawyer’s Committee. Ms. Easter grew up in Michigan and is a graduate of Pioneer High School. She received her B.A. from Yale University and her J.D. from The University of Michigan Law School.
