Wellesley College



  • If you’re looking for an all-girls’ school in the Boston area, look no further than Wellesley College! Wellesley was founded all the way back in 1870 and is one of the original Seven Sisters Colleges.
  • Wellesley College has fourteen different Division III sports to participate in. Wellesley doesn’t have a mascot, but instead their sports teams are known by their school color, the Blues.
  • According to U.S. News & World Report, Wellesley is tied for fourth best liberal arts college in the nation!
  • Notable ladies to have attended Wellesley include the very first female United States Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright; TV journalist, Diane Sawyer; and Democratic presidential front-runner, Hillary Clinton.
  • Boston provides an exciting backdrop for Wellesley; they even have a three-hour tour you can go on where you are guaranteed to see some whales!
  • Wellesley College is also somewhat of a celebrity college! The Julia Roberts movie, Mona Lisa Smile, was filmed on campus.
  • For those who enjoy a good concert every now and again, the city of Wellesley has got that covered! The Wellesley Symphony Orchestra calls Wellesley home (shocking, right!?)
  • And of course, I know by now you’re wondering if you have what it takes to get in and I’m here to help! Wellesley has an acceptance rate of 28% and they hold an average ACT score of 31.
