  • Located in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Kalamazoo College is home to a little over 1,400 students.
  • For those who like visiting big cities, but not necessarily living in them, Kalamazoo might be the place for you. Kalamazoo is about 140 miles from both Chicago and Detroit.
  • Kalamazoo has 11 different Division III varsity sports to choose from. Their mascot is the Hornets.
  • The college has just recently announced the name of their incoming 18th president, Jorge G. Gonzalez. He will take over July 1st.
  • To graduate from Kalamazoo, you really have to show your worth! Every senior must complete a Senior Individualized Project, which is an in-depth research or creative project such as a thesis or artistic performance.
  • For those interested in aviation, the Kalamazoo Air Zoo might be the place for you. It is only a sixteen minute drive away from campus and features many fun activities and displays such as a space simulator.
  • Students at KZoo love expanding their comfort zone: 80-85% of students participate in some immersive international experience, and over half engage in meaningful service. What's even more impressive, Kalamazoo currently produces the largest number of Peace Corps volunteers per capita than any other American institution.
  • Notable people to have attended Kalamazoo College include The Walking Dead actor, Steven Yeun; artist, Julie Mehretu; and Ty Inc. CEO, Ty Warner.
  • Kalamazoo College holds a 69% acceptance rate so to get in, you should shoot for a 3.8 GPA or higher and a ACT score of 27 or higher.
