Kalamazoo College offers various opportunities for high-achieving young women such as yourself to fund your college education. As always, it is crucial to submit your Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA) in order to qualify for grants, federal aid, and additional scholarships. If you are applying to Kalamazoo College, your application for admission acts as your scholarship application. You will be notified of your financial aid award along with your admission decision. Awards range between $10,000 and $29,000. Listed below are some of Kalamazoo College’s merit-based scholarships:
Enlightened Leadership Awards
Available to incoming first-year students through a competitive application process. There are four different Enlightenment Leadership Awards that each require a separate application. Twenty scholarships will be awarded across these four areas. Each scholarship is worth $20,000 ($5,000/year). The scholarships can also be used in conjunction with any other scholarship awarded from the college. Each student is encouraged to apply to multiply areas but they will only be awarded one scholarship. The four areas are:
- The Enlightened Leadership Award for Civic Engagement
- The Enlightened Leadership Award for the Arts
- The Enlightened Leadership Award for International Activism
- The Enlightened Leadership Award for Sustainability and Environmental Activism
Social Justice Leadership Award
This scholarship is awarded through the Arcus Center for Social Justice Leadership (ACSJL). Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to social justice and human rights and continue to pursue this passion as an ACSJL Scholar at Kalamazoo. Students who are first-generation in their families to attend college, and students of color are encouraged to apply.
