Symposium Sunday: JCAS Schedules


Dear JIF Blog Readers,

We are down to only a month before JCAS! The entire JCAS Planning Committee has been busy putting together the schedule of activities to make sure JCAS is an interactive, effective, and most importantly, FUN event to get you thinking about the college application process. While there still may be some tweaks, I wanted to share with you all our tentative schedules. I can’t wait!

JCAS For Counselors, Educators, and Community Leaders: Friday, May 6th 

8:30-9am: Registration

9-9:15am: Welcome

9:15-10:30am: Admissions & Financial Aid Trends 2015-2016

10:45-11:30am: Session Block I

Option #1: Advocating On Behalf of Students: Recommendation Letters, Counselor Calls & Correspondence 

Option #2: Empowering Students in the Process: Essay Writing & Interview Preparation

Option #3: Holistic & Highly Selective Admissions: Case Studies

Option #4: College Affordability & Financial Aid: Candid Questions & Honest Answers

11:30am-1pm: Lunch with Keynote Speech: Supporting Your Students To Become Joyce Ivy Summer Scholars

1-1:45pm: Session Block II
