Scholarship Saturday: Horatio Alger Association National Scholarship

The Horatio Alger National Scholarship Program is one of the major scholarship programs nationally that assist high school students who have face and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. National scholars receive an all-expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C. to participate in the National Scholars Conference and $25,000 to be used towards college.

To be eligible, you must be a senior in high school planning on attending a four year university in the fall with a gross family income of less than $55,000 and a GPA above 2.0. There is no fee to apply for this scholarship and the deadline is October 25.

2015 Scholarship Recipients
The most critical part of the application is the "adversity section." Those who apply must describe individual circumstances as detailed as possible to show that one has confronted and overcome significant adversity -- which so many of us have done!
